Oh hey,
How are you doing? My time off was absolutely wonderful and, as promised, I did a lot of 'thinking' work. Which included creating some new content!
I wanted to try and approach management and leadership training from different angles. Considering what we can learn from celebrities, our own good and bad bosses as well as some of the insights I've gleaned from my world of workplace coaching and my own experiences.
I'll be sharing with them over the coming weeks and I would love to hear what you think about it all!
So, to kick off, have you ever wondered what it’s like working for someone as big as Gaga? Buckle up, because this one’s a wild ride.
So, during Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball Tour, every crew member got their own hotel room - except for one person: her former assistant, Jennifer O’Neill.
Jennifer had to stay with Gaga the whole time. She even testified in a 2013 lawsuit about working 24/7, literally sleeping in the same bed with her boss because Gaga didn’t sleep alone!
Now, let’s be real, most of us aren’t in a situation where we’re forced to share our boss’s bed, but unreasonable demands from managers? We’ve all been there.
So, what can you do if your boss’s asks feel a little… excessive?
1. Talking to someone you trust – Sometimes, we can get so caught up in what's happening that an outside perspective can really help you see if you’re overreacting or if something really is off.
2. Setting boundaries – It is REALLY okay to say "no" when necessary. In fact, boundaries are key to any healthy work relationship. Work out what you're okay with, give context and always be specific with examples or evidence.
3. Suggest alternatives – Offering solutions that work for both sides is a great way to handle tricky situations without conflict. Get out of the problem and into the solution - it shows that you care about making a difference.
Check out the video where I bring all of this to life and, I would love to hear from you... any Gaga-esque stories out there?

Have an ace week team!
