The speed of technological change prompted a startup funded by diamond merchant DeBeers to contact PUSH to help check in with staff feelings and expectations.

Tracr uses advancements in technology including blockchain, artificial intelligence, the internet of things, and state-of-the-art security and privacy to connect the diamond industry through a common digital platform.

In September 2019, Tracr approached PUSH to do a people audit as they closed in on the initial launch of their new platform.  The audit was a combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods with a company-wide digital survey and a series of 1-2-1 interviews.

The role of the audit was to benchmark the present status, essentially the ‘where we are now?’ of the team.

Tracr wanted to understand how the team was feeling given the speed of change and future planning of the company, as well as to develop a clear understanding of what it needed to thrive.

PUSH ran three days of face-to-face interviews with the entire Tracr team in-house, delving into four core areas:

  • Change – understanding pace, impact and personal resilience
  • Personal and Professional Development – what’s required to deliver the ever-evolving needs of the business and are the team sufficiently skilled to achieve that?
  • Wellbeing – getting a good understanding of current energy and stress-levels, as well as a gauge on the team’s overall wellbeing
  • Company Culture – what is this now and what do we want it to be? 

The audit analysis revealed five core themes that ran across the team: Vision, Leadership, Team & Relationships, Culture, Processes. PUSH outlined a variety of recommendations for the leadership team, which included solutions that could be actioned internally or managed by a third party.
